Nature Luxe Queen: When Adults Buy Their Kids' Mattress for Themselves

Best in Beds is an officially licensed Eco Kids dealer with showrooms in Prospect, Campbelltown, and Warrawong. Every price in this article is verified against the retailer's own website at time of publishing.

The question nobody in the mattress industry wants to answer

Once or twice a month, a customer walks into our Prospect or Warrawong showroom, tries the Eco Kids Nature Luxe on the floor, and asks something along these lines:

"This is honestly nicer than the mattress I sleep on. It comes in Queen. Can I just... buy the Queen for me?"

The short answer is yes. And you are not the first person to ask.

The Eco Kids Nature Luxe is a premium natural-latex-over-pocket-spring mattress made in Melbourne by Chiropedic, a second-generation Australian manufacturer with more than 40 years of building beds. It was originally designed for kids because the founder could not find a genuinely non-toxic mattress for his own child. But the construction, a 50 mm natural-latex pillow top over a Chiro Flex ES pocket-spring core, and the certifications it carries, mean it competes very well against similar-quality Australian-made adult latex hybrids in the $1,800 to $2,500 bracket.

It is available in Queen. It is designed to support up to 120 kg per person. And at $2,000 in Queen from Best in Beds ($80 off the $2,080 supplier RRP), it is the cheapest Australian-made natural-latex-over-pocket-spring hybrid Queen we know of on the market at time of writing, before you factor in our free next-business-day delivery to Sydney and Wollongong metro.

This is the honest, licensed-dealer's take on whether the Nature Luxe Queen is actually a good idea for adults, who it suits, who it does not suit, and how to buy it.

Why a "kids' mattress" ends up on adult shortlists

Chiropedic have quietly done something clever. They have built a mattress to the specifications that health-conscious parents demand, and those specifications happen to be what a growing number of adults now want too.

Look at what a premium adult natural-latex mattress typically claims:

  • Genuine natural latex comfort layer (not synthetic or blended)
  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabrics
  • Chemical-free, no fire-retardant treatments
  • Glue-free construction, low VOC emissions
  • Pocket-spring support with reinforced edges
  • Australian Spinal Research Foundation approval
  • National Asthma Council Sensitive Choice approval
  • Made in Australia

The Nature Luxe has every single one of those. It is one of the most comprehensively certified mattresses sold in Australia at any price point, kids' or adults'. The only reason it is priced under $2,000 in Queen is that it is sold through the Eco Kids brand, not marketed against $3,000+ adult latex mattresses.

What the sceptics get wrong

The common objection is "it's a kids' mattress, it must be smaller or softer or built for lighter bodies." None of that is true.

The Nature Luxe uses the same Chiro Flex ES pocket spring system Chiropedic use in their adult mattresses. Triple heat-treated wire, higher coil count, 60% stronger than standard bonnell springs. Maxi-Boost edge support provides up to 70% more edge reinforcement. The Queen size supports 120 kg per person and is designed to hold 150 kg combined weight comfortably.

The pillow top is 50 mm of certified natural latex. Not synthetic latex, not blended, not memory foam pretending to be latex. Latex sleeps cooler than memory foam, resists dust mites and mould naturally, keeps its shape better than foam, and lasts. Chiropedic quote the mattress as designed to last through childhood and beyond, which for an adult buyer is a very solid durability signal.

The comparison table adult buyers actually want

Here is how the Nature Luxe Queen actually stacks up against the natural-latex adult mattresses it competes with in Australia. All Queen sizes. All prices verified live from each retailer's own website in July 2026.

Mattress (Queen) Construction Made in AU Latex + pocket spring hybrid? Queen price
Eco Kids Nature Luxe (Best in Beds) 50 mm natural latex over Chiro Flex ES pocket springs Yes (Melbourne) Yes $2,000 (was $2,080)
Peacelily Latex Mattress All-latex, dual-firmness (no springs) No Latex only $1,599
Melbourne Mattress Factory Natural Latex Queen 50 mm natural latex over 7-zone pocket springs Yes Yes $1,799 (was $2,499)
Zenna Latex Mattress Solid block of European natural latex (no springs) Finished in AU, latex imported from Belgium Latex only $1,895
Ausbeds Cooper (Sydney-made) GOLS natural latex over honeycomb pocket springs Yes (Marrickville) Yes $1,950
Ausbeds Aurora (Sydney-made) GOLS natural latex + micro springs + pocket springs Yes (Marrickville) Yes $2,450
Snooze Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Excellence Titanium pocket + comfort foams (no natural latex layer) Yes Not a natural-latex hybrid $2,000+ member (RRP $3,999+)

The cheapest Australian-made natural-latex-over-pocket-spring hybrid Queen we have been able to find on the market at time of writing. Peacelily and Zenna are cheaper but are pure latex, not spring hybrids, and neither is made in Australia. Melbourne Mattress Factory is close on both price and construction but delivery is Melbourne and surrounds only; we have not been able to verify their national delivery to Sydney or Wollongong. Ausbeds Cooper is $50 less but is built to order in Marrickville and does not offer free next-day delivery to Wollongong.

Who this suits (and who it does not)

The Nature Luxe Queen suits you if:

  • You are a light-to-average-weight adult (up to 120 kg per person) who prefers a medium-firm feel
  • You are sensitive to allergens, dust mites, or chemical off-gassing, or share a bed with someone who is
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to co-sleep and want the safest surface you can find
  • You suffer from asthma or chemical sensitivity (this mattress is Sensitive Choice approved)
  • You sleep hot on memory foam and want the natural airflow of latex over pocket springs
  • You care about buying Australian-made and want to know exactly where the mattress was assembled
  • You have a spare room, teenager approaching adulthood, or guest bed you want to future-proof for grown-up use

It probably does not suit you if:

  • You need a plush, sink-in, cloud-like feel (this is medium-firm; try the Sealy Posture Luxe range instead)
  • You need an ultra-firm orthopaedic feel for a specific back condition (speak to us; we will recommend a firmer option)
  • Either sleeper is over 120 kg (the mattress is engineered for that weight limit)
  • You want to put it on a flexible slat base or an adjustable bed - it will void the warranty and compromise the feel
  • You want an all-latex bed with no springs (look at Peacelily or Zenna instead)

What we hear from adult owners

We have sold Nature Luxe Queens to teachers, nurses, tradies, retirees, and quite a few chiropractic and physio clients whose practitioners recommended natural latex specifically. Common themes from adult owners after 6 to 12 months of use:

  • Cooler than expected. The bamboo lyocell surface and open-cell latex pillow top breathe well. Adults transitioning from memory foam or pillow-top polyfoam beds consistently comment on this.
  • Solid edge support. Adults sit on the edge to put shoes on. The Maxi-Boost edging holds up where cheaper mattresses collapse within a year.
  • Zero off-gassing smell. Because there are no glues or spray adhesives, the mattress does not have the chemical smell most people expect from a new bed.
  • Quieter than pocket-spring competitors. The latex layer damps spring noise well, which matters if one person is a light sleeper.

The honest downsides

No mattress is right for everyone. Being a licensed dealer means we would rather you buy something that suits you than send a mattress back. Here is what we tell every adult customer considering the Nature Luxe Queen:

  • It is medium-firm, not soft. If you are used to a plush pillow-top, this will feel supportive rather than sink-in.
  • The height is 24 cm. That is on the lower side for a Queen. Most Queen mattresses are 28 to 34 cm. If you like a tall bed profile, factor in a taller base.
  • No adjustable-base compatibility. The construction is not designed to flex.
  • Made-to-order lead time nationally. Chiropedic build these individually in Melbourne. Standard national delivery is up to 14 business days for Sydney metro when ordering direct.

The good news on the last point: buying from Best in Beds bypasses that lead time in most cases. We hold Queen stock at our showrooms, and offer free next-business-day delivery to Sydney and Wollongong metro for orders placed before 2 pm.

Sydney and Wollongong: try it before you buy it

The Nature Luxe is one of those beds that you really do need to lie on for 10 minutes before you commit. Photos and specs will only take you so far with a natural-latex mattress; the feel is distinctive and different from foam or hybrid mattresses most people are used to.

You can lie on a Nature Luxe today at any of our three NSW showrooms, plus visit our dedicated local Eco Kids pages:

Sydney metro postcodes covered under our next-business-day service include Prospect, Blacktown, Parramatta, Penrith, Liverpool, Campbelltown, and everything between. Wollongong, Warrawong, Shellharbour, and the northern Illawarra are all within our free next-business-day zone. See the full postcode list on our free next-day delivery page.

How to buy the Nature Luxe Queen

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Eco Kids Nature Luxe Queen actually comfortable for adults? +
Yes, for adults up to 120 kg who prefer a medium-firm feel. It uses the same Chiro Flex ES pocket spring system found in Chiropedic's adult mattresses, with a genuine 50 mm natural latex pillow top on top. Most adults describe it as supportive, cool, and quiet. If you prefer a very plush or ultra-firm feel, it is not the right mattress for you.
What is the weight limit on the Nature Luxe Queen? +
120 kg per person. The Queen is engineered to hold two adults up to that weight comfortably long-term, with short-term combined weight tolerance well beyond that.
Why is the Nature Luxe cheaper than most premium adult latex hybrid mattresses? +
It is sold under the Eco Kids brand rather than an adult premium latex brand, so the marketing positioning caps its price. The construction quality and certifications compare favourably to Australian-made adult latex hybrids in the $2,000 to $2,500 range, and it is significantly cheaper than premium retailer-exclusive latex mattresses sold through the major chains.
Can I get the Nature Luxe Queen delivered next day in Sydney? +
Yes. Order from Best in Beds before 2 pm on any business day, and if you are in our Sydney metro or Wollongong metro next-day zone, the mattress arrives the following business day at no extra cost. See our next-day delivery page at bestinbeds.com.au/pages/free-next-day-delivery for full postcode coverage.
What bed base do I need for the Nature Luxe Queen? +
A flat solid-panel base or a base with rigid timber slats (spaced no more than 10 cm apart). Do not use flexible posture slats, spring bases, or adjustable/electric bases; these will void the warranty and compromise the feel. Most standard timber or steel Queen bed frames are fine.
Is there a sleep trial on the Nature Luxe Queen? +
The manufacturer's 150-night sleep trial applies to purchases made through the Chiropedic/Eco Kids direct channel. Best in Beds offers our own comfort exchange terms; please ask in-store or call 1300 399 676 for details relevant to your purchase.
What is the warranty on the Nature Luxe Queen? +
The manufacturer's 15-year warranty covers manufacturing faults and material defects. Best in Beds also provides our own extended 15-year Best in Beds warranty on top for extra peace of mind, in addition to the manufacturer's warranty.
Where is the Eco Kids Nature Luxe mattress made? +
Handmade to order in Melbourne, Australia, by Chiropedic, a second-generation Australian mattress manufacturer with over 40 years in the industry.
How does the Nature Luxe compare to the standard Eco Kids Mattress and the Eco Kids Deluxe? +
The standard Eco Kids Mattress is the pocket-spring core with a bamboo/cotton quilted surface, no pillow top. The Eco Kids Deluxe adds a foam-based pillow top for softer feel at a mid-range price. The Nature Luxe replaces the foam pillow top with 100% natural latex for a premium, chemical-free feel. For adults, only the Nature Luxe makes sense; the other two are best for children.
Which Best in Beds showroom can I try the Nature Luxe at? +
All three Best in Beds NSW showrooms carry the full Eco Kids range on the floor: Best in Beds Prospect on 02 8676 7321, Best in Beds Campbelltown on 02 4628 1266, and Best in Beds Warrawong on 02 4274 3485. No appointment needed.
