Up to 60 Months Interest Free on Mattresses & Beds
The best way to buy a new mattress or bed without paying up front is interest free with Latitude - available on every eligible purchase at Best in Beds, from as little as $250. You choose the term that suits your purchase: 6, 12, 24, 48 or 60 months interest free, with no deposit and the same amount to pay each month. The credit sits on a Latitude credit card - either the Latitude Gem Visa or the Latitude Go Mastercard.
At Best in Beds, we're a three-generation family business with showrooms across Greater Sydney and the Illawarra, trading since 2003. We're the specialists Sydney and Wollongong customers turn to for mattresses and beds - and interest free is one of the most useful tools our customers use to bring home a better mattress sooner. Below you'll find the plain-English version of how it works, exactly what it costs (including the fees Latitude charges), who's eligible, and how to apply either online or in store.
Whether you're shopping at Prospect, Campbelltown or Warrawong, or you'd like free next-business-day delivery to your Sydney or Illawarra door, this page covers every question worth asking before you apply.
Choose your interest-free term
Latitude offers five interest-free terms at Best in Beds. The longer the term, the higher the minimum spend - pick the one that matches your purchase:
| Interest-free term | Minimum spend | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| 6 months | $250 | Pillows, mattress protectors, bedding bundles, small top-ups |
| 12 months | $500 | Bed frames, mattress toppers, kids' mattresses |
| 24 months | $1,000 | Entry to mid-range mattresses and ensembles |
| 48 months | $1,500 | Premium mattresses and adjustable bases |
| 60 months | $2,000 | Flagship mattresses and full bedroom setups |
Approval, eligibility, the monthly credit card fee and the expired interest-free rate are the same across every term - only the minimum spend changes. The two cards accepted at Best in Beds are the Latitude Gem Visa and the Latitude Go Mastercard, both issued by Latitude Finance Australia and both eligible for these interest-free terms.
How interest free actually works
Interest free at Best in Beds is a credit card offer from Latitude Finance Australia - not a Best in Beds payment plan. That distinction matters, and here's the plain-English version:
- Choose your bed. Pick a mattress, bed frame, adjustable base or full bedroom setup at your preferred term's minimum spend (from $250 for 6 months up to $2,000 for 60 months), in store or at bestinbeds.com.au.
- Apply for, or use, a Latitude Gem Visa or Go Mastercard. You can apply online through Latitude in a few minutes, or in store at the counter. If you already hold a Gem Visa or Go Mastercard from a previous Latitude purchase (Harvey Norman, Domayne, Snooze JB Hi-Fi and others), you can use it here - no new application needed. Approval for a new card is subject to Latitude's credit assessment and isn't guaranteed.
- Pay the same amount every month for your chosen term. Your Best in Beds purchase goes on an Equal Monthly Payment Plan at Latitude - the total is divided evenly across your 6, 12, 24, 48 or 60 months, with no interest charged on the promotional purchase during that period.
Two things to keep in mind that Latitude, and now ASIC, want retailers to be upfront about:
- A monthly credit card fee of $11.95 applies for the life of the card, on both the Gem Visa and the Go Mastercard (subject to change). That's a real cost on top of the mattress price - see the worked examples below so you can plan for it.
- Both cards are ongoing credit card accounts. The card stays open after your Best in Beds purchase is paid off, and interest at Latitude's expired interest-free rate (currently 29.99% p.a.) applies to any balance left over if you use another plan type (such as a Deferred Payment or Minimum Monthly plan) or make additional purchases outside the promotion.
Read the full Latitude terms - Gem Visa product page, Go Mastercard product page, and the Key Facts Sheet and Target Market Determination for each - before you apply. Your Latitude credit contract sets out the binding terms and prevails over anything on this page.
What it costs - the full picture
Interest free doesn't mean fee free. Here's every cost you should expect on top of the mattress price, so there are no surprises:
| Cost | Amount | Charged by |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly credit card fee | $11.95 per month on both Gem Visa and Go Mastercard (subject to change) | Latitude |
| Establishment fee | Not currently charged on new Gem Visa or Go Mastercard applications - confirm at the time of application | Latitude |
| Late payment fee | Applies if a monthly payment is missed - refer to Latitude's current Fees & Charges guide | Latitude |
| Interest on any balance not paid off within your chosen interest-free term | 29.99% p.a. (Latitude's expired interest-free rate) | Latitude |
| Interest on new purchases outside this promotion | Latitude's standard purchase rate - refer to your Gem Visa or Go Mastercard credit contract | Latitude |
| Best in Beds product price | As displayed at time of purchase | Best in Beds |
Example 1: a $3,000 mattress over 60 months
- Monthly payment to Latitude: $50.00 ($3,000 ÷ 60 months)
- Plus monthly credit card fee: $11.95
- Total you'd pay each month: ≈ $61.95
- Total credit card fees over 60 months ($11.95 × 60): ≈ $717.00
- Total cost of the mattress including card fees: ≈ $3,717.00
Example 2: a $1,000 bed frame over 12 months
- Monthly payment to Latitude: $83.33 ($1,000 ÷ 12 months)
- Plus monthly credit card fee: $11.95
- Total you'd pay each month: ≈ $95.28
- Total credit card fees over 12 months ($11.95 × 12): ≈ $143.40
- Total cost of the bed frame including card fees: ≈ $1,143.40
Both examples assume the current monthly fee of $11.95, every payment made on time, and no other purchases on the card. Your actual costs will vary if the promotional term, monthly fee or plan type is different, or if you use the card for other purchases.

Interest free vs Afterpay, Zip, Klarna - what's the difference?
We also offer buy-now-pay-later services like Afterpay, Zip and Klarna, which are popular for smaller purchases, but they're a different product to a Latitude interest-free credit card plan. Here's a quick comparison for mattress-sized purchases:
| Feature | Latitude interest free (Gem Visa or Go Mastercard) | Afterpay | Zip | Klarna |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Product type | Credit card - regulated under the National Credit Code | Buy-now-pay-later | Buy-now-pay-later / credit account | Buy-now-pay-later |
| Repayment term | 6, 12, 24, 48 or 60 months, same amount each month | 4 fortnightly payments (~8 weeks) | Flexible - typically 3–24 months | 4 fortnightly payments (~6 weeks) |
| Ongoing fees | Monthly credit card fee ($11.95) | None if paid on time; late fees apply | $9.95 monthly account fee (if balance owing) | None if paid on time; late fees apply |
| Approval process | Full Latitude credit assessment | Instant, lighter checks | Credit check on higher limits | Instant, lighter checks |
| Best suited to | Any purchase from $250 spread over months or years | Small purchases you can clear in weeks | Medium purchases with mid-term repayment | Small purchases you can clear in weeks |
Our take: For a mattress or full bedroom setup, a Latitude interest-free plan on the term that matches your purchase usually delivers a comfortable monthly payment that fits normal household budgeting. Buy-now-pay-later services can work well for smaller top-up purchases like a pillow or protector, but the fortnightly repayment schedule on a $3,000 mattress can put real pressure on cash flow. Choose the option that fits your situation - and if you'd like to talk it through, our showroom team is happy to walk you through the numbers.
Responsible use - is interest free right for you?
Even 6 months is a real commitment - and 60 months is a long time. Before you apply, be honest with yourself about a few things:
- Can you comfortably afford the monthly payment (roughly $61.95 in our 60-month example, or $95.28 in our 12-month example) plus your existing bills, for the full term you've chosen?
- Are you comfortable holding a Latitude credit card that stays open after the mattress is paid off, with an $11.95 monthly card fee for as long as the card is active?
- Do you have a plan to close or manage the card at the end of the interest-free period, so no balance carries into the 29.99% p.a. standard rate?
If the answer to any of those is "not really", it may make more sense to lay-by (which we offer in store), save toward the purchase, choose a lower-priced mattress that suits your budget, or use a shorter finance term. Our team will happily point you toward a mattress at a price that suits your situation - we'd rather sell you a mattress you're comfortable with than talk you into one that isn't.
